The Birkebeiner Bulletin — July 2015 is now available for viewing on-line as a pdf file (1.3 MB).

To view the latest Birkie Bulletin, all you need to do is click the link in this email message and the pdf file will open in your web browser. Hint: To enlarge the text on the web page, use the following keyboard shortcuts: Windows: hold down Control then type +, Apple: hold down Command then type +

Alternatively, if you wish to save the newsletter to your computer, there are two options: 1. Save it from your Browser (File > Save) or 2. This issue includes: New Timing System, Junior Birkie Coaching, Finnish Coach Eric Stovall’s details including his free Adult Instruction timetable, Calendar of Activities and Junior Calendar, Ski de Femme information, Casserole Dinner report and photos, Mini Series timetable and race information, Rocky Valley Rush information, Looking Back, new grooming machine and signage at Falls Creek, a membership list and  free skis on offer.

Note — Due to insufficient snow, the following events have been cancelled.

  • The Birkebeiner Classic Ski Race scheduled for Saturday 4th July.
  • Junior Joey 1 scheduled for Sunday 5th July.
  • The Junior Birkie Development Camp scheduled for Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th July.

Last chance — Pre-Season Casserole Dinner – Sat 6th June

Our social secretary Kerry Lucas needs to know if you will be attending the club’s Annual Pre- Season Casserole Dinner. RSVP is Wednesday 3rd June i.e.today. Last year we had over 100 adults and kids so if you want a seat let Kerry know.

If you intend to come she needs to know ASAP. Please don’t just turn up!

2015 Birkie Junior Development Camp Applications now open

Skate_poles_kidsThe 2015 Birkie 2 Day Junior Development Camp Applications are now open. The two day camp will be held on Monday 6th to Tuesday 7th July 2015 using the Outdoor School – Bogong Village for accommodation and skiing at Falls Creek. The camp is open to students in years 5 to 8. Applications close Saturday 4th July 2015.

You can download the Camp Information (pdf) and the Application Form (Word doc) by visiting the Club’s website under Programs > Junior Camps

Also visit the Junior Joey section under Programs > Junior Joeys on the Club’s website to view this seasons program including a series of introductory fun races called the Snow, Trek & Travel Mini Series.
